How to fit and load a cargo box
  1. Confirm the box mounting range works with the vehicle’s crossbar spread.
  2. Position the box far enough forward for hatch clearance without creating unnecessary front overhang.
  3. Center or offset the box deliberately so the lid can be reached safely.
  4. Seat every clamp fully on the bar and tighten it as designed.
  5. Load dense items low and between the bars; keep loose items contained.
  6. Close and latch every locking point before driving.
  7. Measure the vehicle’s new overall height and recheck the mounts after the first drive.
More torque isn’t more security.Follow the box manufacturer’s tightening instructions or torque indicator, then check for movement.
Pack wet-sensitive gear in dry bags.Boxes are weather resistant, not submersible. Water can get in at slots and seams.
Hard to lock? Unload the pressure.Keys are cheaper than lock mechanisms, and lock mechanisms are cheaper than lids.
